My attic during the recent Dallas Ice Storm was tolerably warm not freezing like it used to be in 18 degree weather. I looked at them they were both closed. Fairly easy to install for the most basic of DIY person.  It is a one -time install for those who climb on their roof to put trash bags on their vents.

In 2010, I installed 4-Turbine Boss in turbines on my roof. Easy to install. A great little invention. My heating bills are less than my neighbors. Pros: Easy to Install, saves energy

I had a roofer help me install two of these Turbine Boss vents along with two new 12”' Whirlybird Turbines. Initially the roofer was skeptical that they would perform as indicated on the box, but after we assembled and inserted them into the turbines, he asked me where I got them. When I told him homedepot.com he said he was going to start recommending them to his other customers. Based on his endorsement, I feel good about trying them out on my own roof. I'll need to wait until it gets cooler to confirm the vents fully close but the box says you can test them in your freezer if you doubt their claims.

I installed during the summer while replacing Vents. And so far since the weather has turned cold I can tell the difference.  Not only do the save the heat on the second floor of my home. The air is not as dry as it usually gets this time of year.  And I checked and the attic is not holding any more moisture than what it does in the summer. I did set the adjuster to prevent full closure. Very impressed and looking forward to the energy bill savings.

Did not know that it must be glued in place. Be sure to buy a tube of glue.

HAD TO CHANGE BOTH MY TURBINES ANYWAY,I LIKED THE IDEA OF THESE DAMPERS,FIGURED I WOULD GIVE THEM A TRY.EASY INSTALLATION.   I WILL SEE HOW THE HOLD UP. Pros: Durable, Lots of Features, Easy to Use, Easy to Install, Good Size & Weight, Nice Design

These things really work! Put it in a separate garage, open in warm, closed when cold. Keeps garage about 5-8 degrees warmer in cold weather, silent operation.

I installed this just before cold weather. It was very easy to install and seems to be working as described. The attic is not as cold as it had been without the turbo boss.

These really work! If you're old enough to remember air cooled VW thermostats, these work on the same idea. Bottom line is they are worth every penny.

IT WORKS!!! I pretested in refrigerator before installing and it seems to do the trick. Simple and easy to set & install. Won't know about the benefits until we get into some cold weather, but it's got help in retaining most of the attic heat in the winter months.

Delivered faster than quoted. Made of plastic so seems susceptible to question product. Time will tell functioning.

It takes a little extra work to install in a 14" turbine, but it works great to close in winter to slow down air flow in attic and fully opens in summer to exhaust heat.

Item should display material it is made from. The turbine boss is made of plastic and did not state as such!!

If this works like they say it does, it will be worth the price.It will keep from having to get on the roof every fall to cover my turbines. I believe they should be made from a little heavier material, but will see.I will update this next year in the spring of 2013 to let everyone know how it turned out.

Instructions leave one wondering which way is up in installation. Needs better photos.

I have a 1930's 2 story home with a steep roof which makes it very difficult as a senior to cover every winter, which I strongly believe in doing. Now I don't have even think about it anymore. As suggested with the instructions I tested the unit first in my refrigerator and it worked every time.

Placed 2 of these with 12" Active Ventilation roof vents on an unfinished interior garage. Simple installation using the provided foam blocks and a bit of silicon caulking. 720 sf of garage (800 sf coverage per the documentation) and the garage is staying very comfortable...

This product was as advertised. Easy to install and should work like a charm. Fast service and great value from the Home Depot.

I got 2 Turbine Boss put them in the frig. They closed.  I let them warm up, they opened as advertised. I have 16" turbines so I plugged the gap with insulation. I've checked them in the morning & they're closed, checked them later & they opened all the way. So that saves me from bagging & un-bagging the turbines, good to go.Needs larger sizes to fit 16" turbines.

Anyone who can get on a roof can install this product. Instructions were simple and simple to install. Tried it out in the refrigerator prior to installation to make sure it really worked and it did! The product is only plastic so hopefully it lasts a long time through the Texas summers up on the roof. So far this winter, my house has stayed at least 3-5 degrees warmer than previous winters. Not sure it is from the Turbine Boss or my new windows. I believe a little of both. So I believe having this installed is better than having the turbines wide open or not having a ventilated attic by bagging the turbines. So for the price, I believe it is worth purchasing. Plus it appears the product is made in Dallas and I believe in supporting local companies.

Works good for chicken coop ventilation. Put two on side and one in top with the wind turbine. No drafts. Plus I don't have to worry if I forgot to close them in the winter.
